Bruce Beck is in his 28th year with NBC 4 New York. He is the station's Lead Sports Anchor. Beck is also the host of NBC 4’s popular Sunday night sports show, "Sports Final." Beck is the host and sideline reporter for New York Giants pre-season football.
 
Beck was named 2021 National Sports Anchor of the Year by Broadcasting & Cable Magazine as the top local sports anchor in America. He has received eight New York Sports Emmys, two Mid-Atlantic Sports Emmys and three national Cable Ace Awards. Beck has been named New York State Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association nine times.   
 
The versatile sportscaster has covered a multitude of events for NBC 4 including six Super Bowls, eight World Series, the NBA Finals, the Stanley Cup Final, the U.S. Open Tennis Championship, the U.S. Open Golf Championship, the NCAA Final Four, the Kentucky Derby, the New York City Marathon, and 11 Olympics from 2002 to 2024.
 
From 1982 to 1994, Beck was a staff broadcaster with MSG Network. Among his many duties, he often hosted the station's coverage of the Knicks, Rangers, and Yankees. He was the play-by-play announcer for college football and basketball, professional and Golden Gloves boxing, and professional tennis. He hosted the Millrose Games, the Virginia Slims Championship, the National Horse Show and the Lou Carnesecca Show.
 
Starting in 2017, Beck launched the Bruce Beck Sports Broadcasting Camp in New Rochelle, New York. Beck along with the top sportscasters in the nation, teaches the fundamentals of the industry to the next generation of sports broadcasters. Every summer from 2002-2016, Beck, along with sportscaster Ian Eagle, ran a similar camp at the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center in Montclair, N.J.
 
In May of 2009, Beck was chosen by St. John's University to deliver the commencement speech to its Staten Island Campus. He also received an Honorary Doctor of Letters Degree. In 2023, Beck was awarded the professional Achievement Award by his alma mater, Ithaca College. In 2017, he received the Jessica Savitch Award of Distinction from Ithaca, for Excellence in Journalism and Mentorship of Future Broadcasters.
 
On Thanksgiving for over 20 years, Beck and his family served those in need at the St. John's Bread and Life Program, the largest soup kitchen in Brooklyn. Among his other charitable endeavors are the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation, Westchester Medical Center, White Plains Hospital, Children’s Aid Society, Breakthrough T1D, Special Olympics New York, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley.p
 
A graduate of Ithaca College, Beck received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978. He resides in Westchester County with his wife, Janet. He has two sons, two daughters-in-law, and six grandchildren.
